Michael Pihowich

Michael Pihowich is a Principal in Squar Milner’s Corporate Diligence Services practice. Michael is responsible for addressing client transaction related due diligence needs.  With nearly 20 years of professional and corporate experience, his background encompasses a both private and publicly-held companies in wide range of industries including consumer & industrial products, distribution & logistics, retail & business services, construction, semiconductor & technology, engineering, aerospace, and financial services.

The Corporate Diligence Services practice provides a broad range of transaction related advisory services to buyers, sellers and non-control investors or lenders in the lower and middle market space. Clients are counseled on financial due diligence issues, financing strategies, integration of acquired enterprises, budgeting and forecasting of operations, accounting systems, accounting and operations policies, and related matters. In addition, CDS assists companies to develop and implement business plans, raise debt and equity capital and sell all or part of their businesses.

Business Experience

Prior to joining Squar Milner in 2007, Michael spent nearly ten years with Imation Corporation, a $3B global data storage company, holding positions in Finance, Business Strategy, Product Management and Development.  During that time he was involved in numerous strategic investment transactions as both the business and finance leader for several $100-$150 million global consumer and enterprise focused business units.  Prior to Imation, he was Finance Manager for a $100 million manufacturing and distribution division of Owens Corning and a senior member of the Financial Reporting group at Magna International, a $15 Billion + global auto parts manufacturer based in Toronto, Canada. 

Mr. Pihowich began his career in public accounting with Coopers and Lybrand later PricewaterhouseCoopers, in the Toronto , Canada working in both the Financial Advisory Services and Assurance practices.
