Wendell is a Partner in Squar Milner’s Audit and Assurance Services Department and a member of the firm's Financial Institutions Industry Group. With a wide spectrum of practical experience – from sales and marketing to process improvement – Wendell specializes in providing audit, risk management and consulting services to the Firm’s financial institution clients.

Business Experience
Wendell has significant experience in serving financial institutions, from de novo banks to large bank holding companies, mortgage banking companies and security brokerage firms. He specializes in risk assessment and risk management services, including external and internal auditing and regulatory reporting. He also has significant knowledge of income taxation matters affecting financial institutions.

In addition, Wendell has worked with institutions to develop profit maximization strategies, strategic growth plans and incentive compensation plans, among other strategic financial matters. He also consults with financial institutions on regulatory issues, including those involving the OCC, FRB and SEC. Wendell has significant experience in implementing the internal control audit requirements of FDICIA and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Prior to joining Squar Milner, Wendell began his accounting career with a mid-sized accounting firm specializing in community banking, later went on to form his own company, providing audit, tax and advisory services, as well as temporary CFO and mortgage loan origination services and then served as the financial institutions group industry leader for a large regional firm on the East coast.

Wendell is a past chairman of the North American Financial Institutions Committee of Baker Tilly International, where he represented 23 CPA firms in North America and Puerto Rico. Further, Wendell has been actively involved in the Community Bankers Association of Georgia, Georgia Bankers Association, Alabama Bankers Association and is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Georgia. He is a frequent speaker at state banking association functions on various topics related to financial institutions today.
